"It was kind of that Boobie Miles moment," said Quinn, referencing the Texas high school tailback featured in the best-selling book Friday Night Lights, whose career was derailed by a knee injury. "When I looked at my mom when they told me I wouldn't play sports again, I became that big old baby and busted out in tears.
"It was just heartbreaking. But it didn't slow me down.
"And I'm still going."
Quinn has to undergo MRI monitoring every six months to check on the tumor. He showed a humble side yet a quiet confidence when he spoke to reporters Saturday before running a 4.73-second, 40-yard dash on Monday.
